About Me

Welcome! I’m Dominique Paul—writer, scent sleuth, and editor-in-chief of The Olfactory Edit, where I bring my love of storytelling, research, and fragrance into a digital journal for the scent-obsessed.
If you’ve ever stopped someone on the street to find out what they were wearing, smelled an old sweatshirt and instantly remembered a person, or chosen your perfume like it was a soundtrack to your mood—this space is for you.

In my other life as an author and TV writer/producer, I live inside narrative structure. Fragrance is no different. Every scent tells a story and every fragrance evolves like a scene–from top note to dry down. But the notes in any composition are just like words on a page: individually they don't mean very much; together they mean everything.
The Olfactory Edit exists at the intersection of fragrance, memory and mood–a place where your favorite high school body lotion and your niche Parisian extrait both have a seat at the table. Expect nostalgic callbacks, curated scent edits, note matchups, fragrance reviews told in three-act story structure, and yes–a spritz of snark.

Because here, we don't just wear fragrance–we feel it.

xo,
Dominique
